And I recently brought to your attention the rapid withdrawal of insurance companies from the Obamacare exchanges… meaning that people who can’t afford health insurance without government help have fewer choices than ever.
What hardly anyone is talking about is a similar pull out that’s happening with physicians.
Since the roll out of Obamacare, many doctors have quietly put in place policies to not accept health insurance plans available through the government exchanges.
You may be thinking it can’t be too big a number. But it’s 20%. That’s huge. Since the exchanges opened just three years ago, one in five participating physicians have said, “No thanks.” And that doesn’t include the physicians who never accepted marketplace plans in the first place.
When you look at it that way, barely more than half of all physicians will accept patients who receive their health insurance through the Obamacare exchanges.
I told you from the start that Obamacare was going to increase costs and limit choices. It’s clear that I was right. When it comes to Obamacare — both in terms of insurance plans and doctors — the choices are dwindling. See the full story here.
