Violent Crime Skyrockets in “Sanctuary Cities”

ferguson-700x466In 2015, violent crime in Los Angeles climbed almost 20 percent.

Murders were up more than 10 percent. Aggravated assault was up almost 30 percent. Rape… robberies… shootings… they are all on the rise.

One of the reason behind the spikes is L.A.’s policies toward illegal immigrants. You see, L.A. is a sanctuary city. That means illegal immigrants aren’t pursued or prosecuted for being here illegally.

In some sanctuary cities like New Orleans, police can’t even ask a suspect about their immigration status.

This makes policing more difficult. And it makes prosecuting illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes harder, too. Sanctuary cities also make the problem of illegal immigration worse. After all, if people crossing the borders illegally have a safe place to go—one that won’t lift a finger to deport them—it makes it that much easier to come here.

If you live in a sanctuary city, be aware that violent crime is on the rise around you. Be more alert when you’re out in public… when you’re walking to your car at night, talking public transportation, or in other situation where you might be ambushed by a violent criminal.
