It’s that time of year. Back to school time. If you have a child or grandchild headed off to college for the first time, this time of year brings a host of new worries.
That’s especially true if you’ve raised your student to have conservative or libertarian values. In that case, it’s totally reasonable that you might fear your child will be persecuted for what he believes by liberal students, liberal professors, and a liberal administration.
It’s the sad truth that most college campuses in the U.S. are bastions of liberal thinking. And you hear often enough that, on these campuses, people who think differently meet with a hostile response.
Not to worry, though. Your student doesn’t have to forego a college education. With a little preparation and the right mindset, even the most libertarian student can survive and even thrive on a liberal campus.
