New developments are happening in the region that could fan the already hot flames of Chinese aggression.

Last Thursday, North Korea’s top diplomat for U.S. affairs threatened war with the United States. He cited the U.S.’s listing of Kim Jong Un as a sanctioned individual, saying that such an action was a declaration of war.

He went on to say that if South Korea and the U.S. move forward with their joint war games this month—an annual engagement—that violence could erupt in the region.

Historically, China backs North Korea. Any skirmishes between us and North Korea are sure to heighten tensions between the U.S. and China.

This is definitely a situation worth monitoring. You can learn more about the details—and the danger—when you read the full report, here.
