What are They Hiding?
It happened almost a year ago.
An unknown group – well coordinated, well armed, and well informed – launched a major attack on the power grid. The kind of attack I’ve been warning you about.
This particular attack lasted for 52 minutes.
Here’s what happened. It started when one of the attackers infiltrated a “secure” underground room. Once inside, the attacker cut telephone cables. The group wanted to keep the power station from calling for help.
Once the telephone cables were cut, the shooting started…
The attackers then fired more than 100 rounds into the power station, putting 17 transformers out of commission.
Station personnel narrowly prevented a blackout, but it still took 27 days to repair the damage and bring the power station back up to full capacity.
If you’re like most Americans, this is probably the first you’re hearing about this near catastrophic attack. The government wants to keep it as quiet as possible because they know just how vulnerable the grid is to attacks like these.
That’s why you haven’t heard all of the details, until now…
Who Was Behind the Attack?
The FBI insists that this wasn’t a terrorist attack. But not everyone agrees with them. In fact, former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, John Wellinghoff, says it is “the most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the U.S. power grid that has ever occurred.”
The attackers were better than just good. They cut telephone cables, kept authorities in the dark, and pre-arranged their firing positions. Even the bullet casings left at the scene had no fingerprints.
No arrests have been made.
“Probing” for Vulnerabilities
Some people believe that this attack could be a warning of bigger, similar attacks to come. That it may have been just a dress rehearsal. When a terrorist group conducts a ‘test’ like that, it’s called probing.
Think about this. The U.S. power grid is made up of just three systems. If components are damaged in any one single system, it can leave an entire region without power.
Even seemingly insignificant events like a tree falling over can leave millions without power for days. That actually happened in 2003 when a minor incident shut down power to over 50 million people.
Let’s stop for a reality check here… all of this is not just my opinion. My research merely confirms what many experts have been warning of. Heck, even the U.S. Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) warn that the overloaded power grid is operating with dangerously few spare transformers.
In fact, a FERC study has shown that if terrorists coordinated their attacks on just nine of the nation’s 55,000 substations, we could be in for a coast-to-coast blackout.
What Are You Waiting For?
I’ve been warning for over a year now that our power grid is a target. This attack confirms I was right.
The hushed-up response from our government to this attack should strike fear into everyone.
Remember, if the government isn’t out there bragging about how they a prevented disaster, it probably means they don’t have a good defense. They’re already scared this will happen again on a bigger scale.
And they should be.
Physical attacks like this one are difficult to defend against. Most substations are out in the middle of nowhere. High fences and a few cameras are usually the extent of their security. That’s not an effective defense against well-trained snipers.
It’s really only a matter of time before something happens that sends your own neighborhood into weeks of darkness… or longer.
This all has huge implications for millions of Americans who have been brought up on access to 24/7 electricity at a reasonable price. Such people are in for the “shock” of their life when all these little-understood government policies come to full fruition.
My goal and motivation here is to make sure you aren’t one of the unfortunates. My absolute belief is that greater self-reliance planning by more Americans is the best course for freedom-oriented people to embrace.
