Four “Love-making” Potions That Work!

There’s news on over-the-counter natural compounds to improve your sexual health. And through that, a greater sense of well-being and overall quality of life!
One of the things we live for is spending hours each day scouring the news for noteworthy items. And this one definitely qualifies. New science actually suggests that making love is good for your health. It may even help you feel richer.
WebMD, reporting on the paper Money, Sex, and Happiness: An Empirical Study (published by the National Bureau of Economic Research), states that “increasing intercourse from once a month to once a week is equivalent to the amount of happiness generated by getting an additional $50,000 in income.”
If you decide to validate these findings today (or any other day), let’s hope FDA agents do NOT break down your bedroom door, slip in between your bed sheets, and threaten you with an injunction.
  • For Men: A study reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 21 or more ejaculations per month is linked to lower prostate cancer risk in older men. The British Journal of Urology International noted that men in their 20s who had five or more ejaculations weekly reduced their risk of prostate cancer later by a third.
  • For Women: Doing kegels (pelvic muscle exercises) during sex makes it more pleasurable and also strengthens the pelvic area, which minimizes the risk of incontinence later in life.
  • In the journal Biological Psychology, sex is found to lower diastolic blood pressure in cohabiting participants.
  • Scientists at Wilkes University found that having sex once or twice a week is linked with higher levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), which may protect you from getting colds and other infections.
  • Some researchers state that having sex 12 times a month burns as many calories as running seven miles!
  • In a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health researchers found men having sex twice or more a week cut the risk of heart attack or stroke by half.
  • The hormone oxytocin, released during intercourse, is found to decrease pain in a study reported in the Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine. Research also suggests oxytocin promotes sleep.

Despite the Great Health Benefits
Found in Love Making,
Sexual Dysfunction
in Both Women and Men is Quite Common

Research suggests that female sexual dysfunction occurs in 43% of women between the ages of 18 and 59. And 20% to 46% of men between the ages of 40 to 69 experience male sexual dysfunction according to the American Journal of Epidemiology.
If you have concerns or would like to boost your effectiveness, here are some natural solutions to try (most nutritional stores like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe carry them).
The amino acid supplement arginine is reported to improve blood-flow to the pelvic region of your body – much as Viagra does to improve erections in men. But experts say there is a slight trick to remember: Unlike many herbal supplements, it’s best to take arginine between meals, because they say that the amino acid lysine (contained in so many foods) has the effect of neutralizing arginine’s positive effects. One way to get arginine is to snack on nuts.
Natural health experts suggest taking 1,000 – 2,000 mg of arginine in capsule form, twice daily and always between meals. (Note: Arginine stimulates viral reproduction; so don’t ingest it if you have cold sores or other infections.)
The herb yohimbe is acknowledged to treat impotence and low sex drive. It dilates blood vessels within the penis in about an hour.
  • Suggested dosage is 15 mg to 25 mg daily, taken throughout the day (smaller 5-10mg doses for the first few weeks).
  • Yohimbe can cause elevated blood pressure; so take it only after conferring with your doctor. The same holds true for all supplements listed here, because not all approaches are valid for all individuals.
Women can reportedly improve their sexual desire with 1,000 mgs of the herb Dong Quai, three or four times a day – the plant extract is said to help to correct estrogen deficiencies.
Horny Goat Weed Horny goat weed can stimulate
sexual function.
If you’re looking to improve sexual function Horny Goat Weed (also referred to as epimedium leaf extract) may give you relatively quick results. It’s been used for thousands of years in the Far East as a sexual stimulant.
  • Horny goat weed is often said to have the effect of a testosterone injection. Yet it seems to work well for women as well as men. For a couple looking to have children, horny goat weed might help get the process going, as it helps energize sperm production.
  • Herbal health experts say many people will benefit by taking 2 – 4 capsules (500 mg or 600 mg each) per day.
Consider this message another step toward greater medical self sufficiency – a total necessity as key medical decisions are increasingly driven by politics and not science.
Two national vitamin chains, GNC and Vitamin Shoppe, have excellent material on hand to explain the benefits of these supplements and to suggest dosages. And there are many other great sources, as well.
